Itinerary: Tasty breakfast ( Boyoz: Izmir's Peerless Pastry with an Intriguing History. A reminder of Izmir's multicultural heritage.The history of boyoz begins with the arrival in the Ottoman Empire of the Sephardic Jews, who were expelled from Spain in 1492. Offered refuge by Sultan Bayezid II, many found their way to Izmir (then known as Smyrna, pearl of the Aegean) and settled here. After breakfast, we will discover Kemeraltı Bazaar. Today, Kemeraltı Bazaar is the most important shopping center of İzmir as it was in the past. Then we will see the Ancient Agora of Smyrna, an Agora used to be a public space, or better said, a marketplace in the center of Ancient Greek cities where people and merchants gathered around and spent time together. Izmir Agora was also made during the Greek ruling of Anatolia (Modern-day Turkey) during the Hellenistic period in the 4th century BC. After Agora, we will go to Dario Moreno street ( Pretty famous historical street in İzmir), After this beautiful street, we will reach the elevator cabin playing the old Turkish music.
