Colonia del Sacramento, World Cultural Heritage by Unesco, better known as Colonia is one of the main tourist cities of Uruguay. It is located on the side of the Rio de La Plata and with its charm, fascinates the hundreds of tourists who walk and enjoy its classic cobbled streets and beautiful walks. 

Founded by the Portuguese in 1680 on the Río de la Plata, the city was of strategic importance in resisting the Spanish. After being disputed for a century, it was finally lost by its founders.
